DUMPSTER/BIN FAQS

Do you rent garbage dumpsters?

Yes, we do. We rent them to commercial businesses, contractors, and also to residential customers.

For more information on our garbage/waste bins and dumpsters, please visit our Garbage/Bin/Dumpster page.

Do you deliver and pick up your storage and garbage bins?

Yes. We will deliver them to you and pick them up when you are finished.

If you need more time with storage, we can pick up your full storage bin and store it in our secure compound until you need it back.

Garbage dumpsters will be picked up and taken to the City of Regina landfill.

Does DP Disposal & Storage handle the landfill drop-off for me?

Absolutely. We offer full-service disposal — meaning we load, transport, and dump your waste for you.

Our team takes care of the landfill process, including any required fees, saving you time and hassle.

What items are not accepted at the landfill or by DP Disposal?

The Regina landfill does not accept:

  • Hazardous waste (paint, oil, solvents, chemicals)
  • Explosives or ammunition
  • Biomedical waste
  • Large propane tanks or pressurized cylinders

If you’re unsure whether your items are acceptable, contact us before scheduling a pickup.

What if I have too much garbage?

The garbage placed in the bin can not exceed the brim of the container. As well, the doors must be able to close fully.

Additional fees may be charged it we are unable to pick up the garbage dumpster or storage bin. Also, if we have to wait for vehicles to be moved.

Inform your neighbours to not park near or around the bins on days of pick up and drop off.

Do I need a permit from the city to have a bin on the street?

According to the City of Regina website

Garbage Disposal Bins

You require a temporary street use permit if you need to place a garbage disposal bin in an alley or parking lane of a street during a construction, repair or demolition project.

If the bin can be placed on private property, a temporary street use permit is not required.

Bins can only remain on City property for a maximum of 10 days and cannot be placed in a “No Parking” or “No Stopping” area.

If there is a hazard from falling objects around the bin, you must clearly mark off the work area with warning devices and a rope barrier, barricade or cones.

To apply for a permit, you can apply by phone by calling
306 777 7000 or use the online service request form.

NOTE: It can be a slow process to receive a permit. Plan ahead if you can.

Do you rent storage bins/pups?

Yes, we do. For more information on our storage units, please visit our Secure Mobile Storage Unit page.

Do I need need to be home for a drop off?

You do not need to be at the drop off location. As long as the space is open for us to leave a garbage bin or portable storage bin.

Do I need to be present during pickup?

Not necessarily. As long as we have clear access to the items being disposed of, we can complete the job and send you confirmation once it’s done.

Can I bring my own items to the Regina landfill?

Yes. The City of Regina landfill is open to the public for self-haul disposal. You’ll need to pay landfill fees directly to the City when you arrive.

For current hours, accepted materials, and rates, visit the City of Regina Landfill page.

How do I get a quote for disposal services?

You can request a quote online through our Request a Quote page. Simply list the type of items you need removed, and we’ll provide an accurate estimate that includes landfill fees and handling.

What can't go in the garbage bins?

Do not add any of the following to a garbage bin:

Items not accepted or accepted only under special conditions

  • Wet loads (liquids or water).Loads containing free-liquid or excessive water are not accepted.
  • Contaminated or potentially contaminated soil & materials. If soil or material is suspected of contamination, you’ll need a special permit and analytical testing before disposal.
  • Loads mixed with unauthorized garbage + designated “clean” loads. Example: “clean concrete” loads must have no garbage mixed in. If garbage is present, standard waste rates apply and the load may be rejected.
  • Large commercial-size appliance loads with refrigerants. For residential loads refrigerators/freezers etc are accepted (with a refrigerant removal fee) but commercial-quantity or industrial-sized refrigerators/freezers are not accepted.
  • Any materials deemed “Special Waste” without proper permit / treatment. This covers things like asbestos, noxious loads, materials that may contain hazardous waste. These require a “Special Waste Disposal Permit”.
  • Garbage mixed into loads that are supposed to be clean fill, concrete, asphalt etc. For example: clean concrete loads must meet specific criteria (no detached rebar/steel bigger than specified, less than certain clay/dirt content) else they’ll either be charged standard rate or rejected.
What if someone else puts something in the bin?

If you are planning to have a garbage bin/sumpster in your driveway or on the street in front of you home. Be sure to advise your neighbours in advance. Especially if they also park in the street.

If are unable to access the bin to drop off or pick up it may result in additional costs for our time.

Also, the customer is responsible for everything in the bin. Feel free to use the message below to email or print off to add to your neighbours mailboxes.

Friendly Notice to Neighbours

Hi neighbours!

Just a quick heads-up that I’ll have a temporary garbage bin placed in my driveway / on the street for a project I’m working on. Since I’m responsible for all the disposal fees, I kindly ask that no one puts anything in the bin without checking with me first.

If you do have something you’d like to toss, feel free to ask — I’m happy to help if there’s room, and we can chip in together if needed.

Please don’t park around it as the disposal company needs to be able to pick it up and drop it off.

Thanks so much for understanding!
